Knee-Strengthening Exercise For Stronger Joints

, Knee-Strengthening Exercise For Stronger Joints

Feeling a bit weak in the knees, and for all the wrong reasons? Here’s why your knees could be weak, with an exercise our expert biokineticists advise you do to strengthen them.

When the components of the knee aren’t working properly, you can suffer from pain, and inflammation. Research shows that around 18 million people see a doctor for knee pain each year, due to overuse, osteoporosis, tendinitis, bursitis, meniscus tears and sprained knee ligaments.

But there’s good news! A biokineticist can help treat your knee pain, and will advise you to do this knee-strengthening exercise at home.

Glute bridges

Strong glutes alleviate the stress from the knees by balancing the load, thereby preventing your knees from caving in or twisting out. Here’s how to do glute bridges:

Lay flat on your back, knees bent, shoulder width apart. Lift your glutes, squeezing at the top, and hold. Slowly release.
Sets: 3
Reps: 15
